Dana made the perfect dress for elephant herding.

Or lounging.

While I made a playsuit more suited for standing completely still.

Or bringing gifts.
(Note: Dana says I rigged the competition by shooting her dress in blinding light or almost total darkness, while my playsuit benefited from mellower ambience. I admit it. I needed all the help I could get.)

Both outfits are adorable, but those boots! How cute. I wonder if they make those for big, big girls.
The styling is almost more outstanding than the garments themselves. I mean obviously the model is the most charming element, but the birthday gift, imperfect pigtails, boots, socks, temporary tattoos… really incredible.
Love the craft off idea. My husband has only sewn one thing, about 10 years ago when we first got a sewing machine. We each made a fleece vest for ourselves (1997, maybe?). Talk about biting off more than you can chew. Zippers, pockets. Oy vey. The man didn’t even know the basic principles of sewing (”Isn’t this inside out?”)and he took this on. We spent the better part of a weekend making our vests. Oh, to have that sort of leisure time…
Try Target, Brittney. Maybe, just maybe …
And yes, the girl certainly knows how to accessorize. (A vest sounds like a difficult first time project! Wow!)
well…the clothes don’t make the girl…the girl makes the clothes…she could be in a burlap sack and it would be the most precious outfit ever.
you are two talented people…she’s a lucky little girl.
Hmmm, now there’s an idea!
I just had this image of her pulling out a box of these awesome, creative kid clothes some day and telling her friends, “My DAD made these for me.” I mean, I think that alone makes you the winner…
